With the commencement of the new timetable on December 9th South West Trains ceased operating to Brighton, this being a requirement of their new franchise. The Reading-Brighton and Brighton-Paignton services were the casualties, the latter being the final vestige of an enthusiasts' favourite - the Southern Railway's Brighton-Plymouth service.
