| 2417 in Gatwick Express Livery | |

2417 emerged from Chart Leacon on 8th July in unbranded Gatwick Express livery, the first class 442 unit to receive such treatment. It is seen here passing Paddock Wood in the evening. Note also the absence of an Electro-Diesel locomotive. This is believed to be the first time this class of unit has run on the South Eastern section under its own power. photograph by Barrie Swann |

(above) 2405 and 2406 in platform 5 at Brighton Station on 9th June. photographs by Lee McHale Training for Southern drivers commenced on 9th June between Lovers Walk and Three Bridges, though on the first day this also included an excursion into platform 5 at Brighton Station. This is believed to be the firts time a Wessex unit has entered the station since this group's Coming of Age Railtour on the 7th December 1991 (for a picture please click here) with unit 2413. |
