Preservation News - 4 Cep
70300 Update |
|
![]() |
You may recall
that during June and July we reported the move of refurbished 4Cep TSO 70300 (from unit
1698/1540/7151) - from a batch of three set aside at Immingham for potential static use -
to the Fighting Cocks public house, Middleton St. George, Darlington, County Durham, for
use as a restaurant. The coach was lowered into position outside the public house on June
22nd 2006 and is pictured (above left) soon after being put into position. 70300 has
now been converted and repainted into a green and cream livery, which whilst non
prototypical, suits it remarkably well and certainly removes any possibility of
enthusiasts' debate over the suitability of any chosen prototypical colour scheme! The non
lavatory end of the car has been built into a new extension of the public house and a
deck, with tables, has been constructed on the road side. The road sign has been
moved as well! photographs by Mark Harrington |
