Happy 50th Birthday 5759!
5759 in the platform at Shepherdswell On Saturday 19th August 2006 the EPB Preservation Group held a special event at the East Kent Railway to celebrate the 50th birthday of 2EPB electric multiple unit number 5759.  The East Kent Railway's normal Saturday service was operated by 5759 and 4Bep 7105, assisted by diesel loco 09025. 5759 is nearing the end of restoration to as near original condition as possible. For its return to passenger service after a year out of service  the EPB Preservation Group celebrated with a cake!
