Headline picture - refurbished Cep travelling through Folkestone Warren

With the closure of Martello, Abbotscliffe and Shakespeare tunnels between the 30th April and 5th September to perform major repairs, plus the final months of Cep workings in Kent, what better excuse is required to celebrate some quintessential S.E. division running along this precarious stretch of coast?

All photographs on these two pages were taken by Gregory Beecroft on the 30th July 1983, roughly half way through (time-wise)
Cep operations in Kent.

1576" 1576 departing the environs of Dover on an up Charing Cross service.
1597 1597, also working an headcode "4" service, along Shakespeare Cliff.
